Here's a quote from Neal Boortz that perfectly piggy-backs what I posted here last night:
“Vote for Bush and you get runaway government spending, but you also get a strong defense and an aggressive war against the Islamic terrorists who want to kill as many Americans as they can, on our own soil if possible, and to destroy the American way of life. Vote for a Democrat and you get the same runaway government spending, but as an added bonus you get the appeasement of our enemy, instead of its destruction. Vote for Bush and you get some appeals court judges who actually have an appreciation of our Constitution .. plus runaway spending. Vote for a Democrat and you get activists judges who will use judicial fiat to enact the leftist agenda … plus runaway spending.”
Eh… What can you do?

The Godfather of Soul reminds you to never say “Owww! Hit me! Wait a minute! Hit you, too!” Otherwise, you'll end up with your mugshot looking just as bad.

Here's yet again another pleasant dinner topic: kidney stones. What fun I've had with this little jewel. On New Year's Day, I had to go to the ER because of extreme pain on my left side. I knew exactly what it was, and I knew I wanted it out. Well, after that night, it hadn't bothered me. I went to the doctor, got an X-ray, and they saw nothing. I knew I didn't pass it, but they couldn't see it. So, raise a glass and make a toast to no pain. Wednesday of this week, “Mr. Anderson… welcome back… we've been… expecting you.” I took a pain pill and fell asleep. It was moving, but I didn't want to know it. I woke up after a couple of hours without any pain. Yesterday, it happened again. I took a pain pill with no effect. I popped another one soon after, and it still had no effect. Amy called the doctor, and he told us to go back to the ER where he would have specific instructions standing by. We got there, went straight back, and I got my favorite IV medicine in the whole world. I was out like a light. They woke me up to do a CT scan. They found the little booger right on the edge of my bladder. It's ready to pass, but it's just a matter of drinking a ton of water to get it down completely.
I've had a little pain this morning, but another (stronger) pill has cured that. I'm about to brave the trip to class. Here's to a pain-free day!
UPDATE: Darn thing passed this last Friday evening! Stone Cold Stone Free!
