Back in the saddle…

January 5th, 2004 by Brock

I went back to work today at the TV station. Needless to say, I am happy it was a short work day because I did not feel well after it. The flu's still got a little hold on me, but I'm kicking its butt. I also went back to the radio station tonight which was pretty quick.

All-in-all, I'm tired. I'm relatively unhappy with Tuscaloosa right now. It's been great being here during the holidays, but this town is about to surge again. The idiots across the street are coming back by Tuesday night. Classes start Wednesday and I am not looking forward to it. No more parking spots close to our apartment. Everybody parking illegally on the grass and being loud outside. This would've been fine if I were about five years younger, but growing up makes you realize how much of a moron you can be at that age. Not all people that age are like that, though. I have a lot of good friends that age and I wouldn't trade them for the world. But here… across the street… geez. Those kids are just plain stupid.

But there is one redeeming quality to this upcoming semester… MY LAST ONE! I will be wearing my cap and gown on May 10! Hello, B.A. in Telecommunications and Film with a concentration in Broadcast News! And then… Amy and I pack up our place and hit the road! Where? Haven't figured that one out yet. However, I do know it won't be that rat-hole Columbus, GA, again. Amy would like to move back there, but there's too many bad memories on my part. That's where I worked at one of the worst-run TV stations in my life. I miss my old radio company now-and-then, but they've been sold. I know of some people still there, but it wouldn't be the same. Besides, I may have a full-time job in radio lined up for me when I graduate. No details yet, buddy! :-) I'll take either radio or TV when I get out. As long as we can survive on the income, get the benefits, and live in a nice place. After all, baby might be coming soon!
