Oh no…

If anyone can appreciate this, can…

I had to go into the main station in Columbus tonight. Bureau feed is down again. So, after I come off the set with Wayne and Dee, there's a phone call waiting for me. I pick up the line, say hello, and then I hear it…

the voice… like a banshee in the night…

“BLOOOOOCK!”

That retard found me again…

Funny…

July 23rd, 2004 by Brock

Just saw the first trailer for “Meet The Fockers.” It looks good, although I do have my one gripe about it…

Why did they choose that liberal wench Barbara Streisand to be in it? Ugh…

Sad day…

July 20th, 2004 by Brock

Today was not the best day. Mary's, my dad's wife, father passed away this morning. If that wasn't bad enough, Jimmy just called me to tell me his sister passed away today, too. She was a very good friend and like a sister to me in high school. Jimmy is one of my oldest and dearest friends, practically a brother. He was up here just two weeks ago.

I don't know if we'll be able to make it to either funeral. The one for Mary's dad is Friday, so I know we won't be able to make that one. Susan's funeral has yet to be decided.

We're praying for and love you all.

My Xbox is back! Woohoo! I can now play Spider-Man 2, but my wife has hidden NCAA Football from me. It's a birthday present next week. Drat… But who cares! I got my Xbox! :-)

It’s not SNL, but here’s my weekend update…

July 18th, 2004 by Brock

We went up to see my dad yesterday. Mary’s father is not doing too well, so she was away at his side. We went to eat at this little Mexican restaurant in Roanoke. It’s one of those little holes in the wall that’s soooo good. Very delicious. We had a good time driving around and seeing things that I’ve not seen in a while.

We ate dinner with Walker and Melanie Friday night. Melanie is a heck of a cook. I can’t remember what the name of it is right now, but she fixed this Italian dish that was awesome! While we were eating, I got a call from my East Alabama Bureau cohort, Elizabeth. There was apparently a high-speed chase on the interstate with an 18-wheeler. It had apparently collided with a car at the first Auburn exit, so they called me to get some footage of it. I got to the bureau to get the camera and Liz called me back to tell me that there were no injuries, so forget it. I’ll admit I wasn’t happy about that. I didn’t mind going out there too much, but getting to the office and then being told to go home bothered me. It was pouring down rain, and I came in for nothing. Sometimes, I hate being a one-man-band. I really wish we had a photographer out here.

Anyhow, Walker bought an Onkyo surround sound system. I tried to help him put that together, so we didn’t get out of there until after midnight. Sorry, guys! :-) It was fun, though. It was the first time I’d seen their place, and they’ve done a great job decorating it. I really am happy we’re close by now. I didn’t think I would be.

I guess I’ll go clean up the guest room. Mom is coming up this weekend to celebrate my 28th birthday. Another year older… and another day without my Xbox and NCAA Football…
