Monday Night

November 15th, 2004 by Brock

It's been a while since I updated my journal, so I thought I would catch up a little.

- Bama needs to fire Dave Rader. He's the offensive coordinator. No disrespect, Dave, but… you stink. Having the “Big 3″ out for the season doesn't help, either.

- Congrats to Auburn for the great season they're having. That's my only positive response for living in this town as far as the football team goes. Also, thanks to the rednecks who so gently yelled “WAR D*** EAGLE, MOTHER F*****S!” while I was live on the air at Toomer's Corner. Classy…

- I'm not going to say much since I don't want to jinx anything, but we are house hunting. Actually, we found a house, but we are in the middle of negotiations. Pain in the rear? You'd better believe it.

- I've been busy playing Halo 2. I've been even busier playing EverQuest 2. I've managed to get back in touch with Dave and Brandie from Seattle. They were my EQ 1 buddies. I hope we can play on EQ 2. Not sure if they're getting it yet.

- Prayers go out to a co-worker who's been diagnosed with something. Not saying who and not saying what, but we are praying for you. Get well soon.

- Otherwise, work is going well. I really do like my co-workers. My assistant news director told me today I need to come over there and spread some of my happiness around. :-) Thank you! I can smile about work. It's the house negotiations I have trouble with.

- One of my best friends, Chris, quit his job in B'ham and moved back home to Geneva without telling me. That means I'm not giving you the wishbone at Thanksgiving, my friend. :-) I hope to see you and Jimmy this upcoming weekend.

- Speaking of Jimmy, DW (and not Darrell Waltrip) called. He wants his moonshine back.

- I guess that's it for now. I'm just content. I just need more RAM and/or a faster processor for EQ2. Yup. It's a tad sluggish sometimes. :-)

Tonight bites

November 5th, 2004 by Brock

Today was going so well. Amy and I have been house hunting for the last couple of weeks. The bank's been good to us, so we figured it was time to get out of this apartment. We revisited a pretty house in a great neighborhood tonight after work. Everything is in motion. We love the house, gonna offer a bid on it in the morning… and then… our realtor calls us back tonight to let us know someone put a contract on it TODAY and it was accepted.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! We have been so bummed out. The best and worst day I've had in a while all rolled into one. Best Buy (favorite store of all time) finally opens in Opelika, and we lose the house we wanted. After looking all over for another one, there's none we can get to tonight. And to top it off, we just happen to be going out of town in the morning. Now, I would sincerely love to stick around and find a house.

I know God has something better for us. Patience is a virtue…

Looking to the future, Pt. 2

Remember this, Dear Democrats…

Maybe if you choose a candidate a little more moderate and in tune with the majority of American values, you might actually reclaim the leadership…

Looking to the future…

November 3rd, 2004 by Brock

Since W. is president once again, you know what lies ahead for 2008. The Socialist, Hillary Clinton, will run for the oval office. This is one of the most dangerous people to American freedom in our nation's history. She will push to take what you bust your behind to earn and give it equally to everyone. I'm sorry, but I don't believe in being forced to give away what I've worked for to someone who won't lift a finger to help themselves.

I'm grateful President Bush will be our leader for the next four years. However, you can't overlook the fact Hillary will now work toward 2008. That's why I present this banner to you. Pass it along!

And now, Dear Mr. Kerry…

November 3rd, 2004 by Brock

Go home, sit down, and realize you need to stick to one belief per issue, not several. Yes, Senator Kerry, you put up a good fight. However, in the end, you could not provide the American people with enough comfort and security to win the election.

I hope you hate-filled, whining, venom-spewing, liberal Democrats rest well for the next four years. You're a lot safer now because we won't have to go to the America-hating United Nations for permission to defend ourselves.

For a political party that preaches unity, peace, and love, you guys have a lot to learn. I wish Democrats were still the party of JFK. The Democrats who loved the military and loved America's freedom enough to fight for it. The ones who actually believe every voice should be heard. Not the ultra-liberal people like Michael Moore who believe First Amendment rights belong only to them. The ones who can say anything they want because they have the right, but try and silence those who oppose your viewpoints. I guess they don't believe in the old saying, “what's good for the goose is good for the gander.”

It's a good day to be a Bible-believing, hard-hitting, straight-to-the-bone Republican.

God bless the United States.

God bless President George W. Bush.

P.S.- So much for Peter Jennings and Dan Rather. Way to sway people to your party, boys!
