The words I never thought I'd say…

A new addition to our family should be here in eight months!

We're pregnant!!!!!

Good evening!

Not a big update tonight, but just watch this space in the next few days for something I'm not used to saying.

-Well, it's been a while. This has been a busy last couple of weeks around the house. We have been building the shed in the back yard with various family members. Dad came down yesterday and we almost had it completed. We only got half the roof finished. I finished it today, so all that's left is the trim around the roof and the door. Then we can store our junk out there. I'll need to anchor it sometime this week, too.

-What else is new? Well, work is going well. I need a small break though. My brain sometimes gets overtaxed from creating story ideas. It's the only part of my job I hate. It's hard to find things to report on some days.

-Our bills are starting to come in from the first month of owning the house. It really bites seeing these new things we have to pay for.

-We are weighing the option of doing away with our home phone. Just DSL and cell phones. It would save a serious amount of money per month. We may try out Vonage or something like that, too. I think the idea of a broadband phone is pretty cool.

-We've got a new computer desk. It's the first one we bought in about eight years. It's pretty nice… and huge! Here's what it looks like. It's got three great top shelves for my statues!

-Mercenaries is an awesome game! Too bad I've been too tired to play it lately.

-I really miss my friends from Tuscaloosa. I haven't been able to speak with them a lot lately. This house and work has eaten up all of my free time.

-Well, I guess I'll close it for now. Have a great night!

We have the Internet at home now, but one of the past owners tried to amateur-rig the phone system. We have static like crazy in our DSL line, and it bleeds over to our phone line. When you pick up the phone, you hear the dial tone and the operator telling you to hang up the phone at the same time. Needless to say, this is disrupting our Internet. It comes and goes, so I need to call BellSouth in the morning and see if they can come out and fix it.

I'm watching the BCS Championship game. Alabama lost to Minnesota, so that spelled the end of my happy football season. Now, my second favorite team, Oklahoma is getting spanked at halftime. Just fantastic…

Speaking of BCS coverage… Hey, ABC, your presentation stinks! What's going on with the audio-video being out-of-sync? I can't tell if Ashlee Simpson is actually singing or lip-syncing! And why did technical problems like non-working mics happen? Thank goodness Fox is taking the series over soon. They've always been good at broadcasting games (in my opinion).

That's all for tonight. I'm tired and cranky because of the Internet problems. At least marriage and work are going well.

–P.S. The whole stadium just booed Ashlee. Priceless!
