If I only had HD…

January 6th, 2006 by Brock

Miracle of miracles…

I got some Christmas cash and Best Buy gift cards over the holidays. My goal? Save up for the Xbox 360.

It turns out I had enough to get one. The next challenge was actually finding it. I asked a Best Buy dude Tuesday when they’d get them in, and he tells me that very night.

After only four hours of sleep (due to covering an overnight story), I was at the store when it opened Wednesday morning. What do my drowsy eyes see? A stack of them sitting in the floor just waiting for me to get one.

So I did… and it is glorious! I’ve only got one game so far (“Condemned”) because nothing else really suits me. I played it tonight for the first time, and I am hooked.

I’ve also got to get up for work in five hours, so adios! Viva la 360!

I’ve got Call of Duty 2 on another platform, and I love it! I just wanted to try out something different this time. I know I’ll pick it up soon.

I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a PS3, either. That one will definitely have to wait a while, even after it comes out.

Sorry, EJ. Didn’t mean to gloat. Maybe we can still hook up and play online soon. I just wish NCAA Football 2006 was on the backward compatible list. Maybe soon…
