From someone not named “Finebaum”
Just wanted to throw this at you from The Sporting News:
Texas A&M interested in Tuberville
No, it’s not from Paul Finebaum, either.

The doctor treating me for my MSSA staph infection gave me a new prescription the other day. Well, I broke out in hives and have been itching like crazy. What’s weird is it’s primarily affecting my knees.
I went to the after-hours clinic the other night and got a new prescription. I’m not itching as much, but I guess the effect is still wearing off. It still made for a bad night last night, though.
On another note, last night was my last “Hometown Spirit” for the year. I’m very grateful for that because I can finally get back into the normal work routine. I always feel so out-of-touch when I’m not working daily on stories.
I’m going to seal our deck today. I should have started earlier, but it’s a beautiful Saturday, and it shouldn’t take too long. It’s been nice just relaxing this morning, though.

It’s been a great day. I had a message on my Facebook last night from my dear friend, Hayley. She’s also a co-worker, and she left this:
“so mr. parker, i might have gotten you a little “i’m glad your leg didn’t fall off” present =)”
I caught that this morning as I was getting ready for work. I got to Columbus, and she told me to close my eyes. She walked over to my desk and laid down two packs of magnets from “The Office.” Sweet!
Thank you again, Hayley. That made my day.

For the most part, this was a miserable weekend thanks to my staph infection. I caught the MSSA bug, not the MRSA. That was good, but this thing still kept me sidelined.
Mom came up to take care of Alyssa. Amy went to a women’s conference a couple of hours away, and I was supposed to be at the Bama game. Instead, Mom also wound up taking care of me, too. I basically kept my rear glued to the recliner these last three days with my leg stretched out. It’s hard to sit normally with the infection’s location.
It was great having Mom around, and I loved all the extra time with Alyssa. I didn’t get to play with her much, but she’d run over and hug me quite often. That made me feel better since I was so sore and grumpy.
I was finally able to get back out of the house today, and it was awesome. You never realize how bad being stuck inside is until you break free from it. We went out to eat tonight, and I ran to Wal-Mart (something I haven’t done in two months!). I don’t like Wal-Mart, but it was the only thing open this late on a Sunday night.
I’m heading back to work in the morning. I’m looking forward to it, and I’ve got to play catch-up from Wednesday. I’m not completely healed, but I think I’m on the fast track. Everything’s looking a lot better.
Also, there’s a new webcam photo up. It’s in honor of getting Transformers on HD-DVD this week.
