Well, the new year is almost upon us.  We’ve been at home for a couple of days after many nights and meals with various family members.  Christmas was fun, and Alyssa (naturally) stole the show everywhere she went.

I do have a lot to talk about, but yet, I don’t. Well, at least I can’t talk about it right now.  I’m getting more and more anxious by the day, and I’m ready for the change that’s possibly around the corner.

We went to see the new National Treasure movie.  AWESOME!  It was just as good as the first one to me.  Walker and I also went to see Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Honestly, I only went to see it for Jenna Fischer from The Office.  It turns out two more actors from the show were also in it. My opinion on this one is mixed as it was very funny, but really crude.

Anyhow, things are good.  It’s been great to get away from the station and relax. I haven’t looked at news, and I sure haven’t thought about it. As much fun as it’s going to be, I really don’t even want to go to the bowl game Monday and report. I wish I had that day off, too.  I’m off New Year’s Day, although driving back from Atlanta, then it’s back to work Wednesday.

I think I’ll close for tonight.  I’m tired, and thankfully they’ve reduced church in the morning to just one service. It will give me a couple of extra hours of sleep since Sunday School has been canceled.

The first trailer is online for The Dark Knight, the new Batman movie. Wow… I was so afraid Heath Ledger was going to pull off a Brokeback Batman-type of Joker, but man, oh, man… He has nailed the part. Not in the Jack Nicholson way, but just a different and more psychotic take. I LOVE IT!

I’m not going back to work until Thursday, and I must say these last 2.5 days off have been awesome! I’ve been able to do a lot of things around the house, including some down time and a trip to Bass Pro Shops in Prattville.

I’ve never been to a bowl game, but my boss just called with the good news! I’ll be going live from, and enjoying, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl New Year’s Eve! I’m very excited about it! It’s a battle between Auburn and Clemson, so I don’t have a dog in the fight. However, my brothers-in-law do.
